Co-Founder and CEO
Abby-Gail S. Blanchard is Co-Founder and CEO at Blanchard Institute for Educational Development and Research NV, which was established in Paramaribo, Suriname in October 2020. Blanchard’s research and publications are focused on quality assurance (institutional assessment/self-assessment) and accreditation in higher education.
Blanchard’s mission is to improve the quality of education within educational institutions and businesses, enabling them to develop and maintain high quality educational programs, training, and workshops relevant to the labor market and society. She also serves as a Graduate Assistant at the Office for Planning Assessment and Institutional Research (OPAIR) at The Pennsylvania State University, where she executes activities regarding institutional quality assessment and compliance. For over 9 years, Blanchard has worked for various Higher Education Institutions (HEI’s) in Suriname as a consultant, quality assurance coordinator, lecturer, and trainer. She has held posts on various examination boards and assessment committees within HEIs in Suriname.
Blanchard is currently a first-year Ph.D. student at The Pennsylvania State University (PSU). She received her bachelor's degree in education and master's degree in education and research for sustainable development at the Anton de Kom Universiteit of Suriname. Blanchard is also a 2022-2023 Hubert H. Humphrey fellow.
